Sure, we could try to do that in our favor. Or we could simply point out the obvious., i.e., that so-called "swing voters" only exist in the minds of Washington pundits and policy analysts, most of whom make comfortable livings and who don't want their taxes raised, as a vehicle for peddling self-serving economic talking points sans embarrassing Teabilly ideological baggage. In which case the Village Amway salesmen should not be engaged but ignored, with progressives now free to campaign for policies based on principles they actually believe in. Why hasn't anyone thought of that before?
Put another way: trying to win the messaging wars with a gang of charlatans is a waste of time. Better idea: Call them out for the greedy little shits that they are, then take your case to the voters. You might discover you can win elections this way.
