Fun With Typepad

Trying a new layout for a change, the aim being to un-clutter the page a bit, improve readability, etc. Tomorrow I'll probably hate this and revert to the old user-hostile layout, but am I thinking the blog could stand some sprucing up, and this might be an improvement over the long-standing original design. Any thoughts?
