If the administration ends up drawing the short straw next November, one hopes that amid all the what-if post-mortems, they'll acknowledge in retrospect the utter futility of reaching across the aisle to accommodate the demands of the outlaw gang of cranks and psychotics that currently constitutes the Republican Party. Try being their worst nightmare next time, guys.
