Of course, he'd be an inspired (and inspiring) pick for Treasury, and his Senate confirmation hearing would likely produce more mirth and merriment than anything we've seen in the Village for some time. On the other hand, we know enough about him to say he can be, well, a bit prickly at times, and he certainly doesn't suffer fools (or Austerians) gladly, so it's hard to see him being terribly happy as a cabinet minister whose pleas for sanity are sure to be shunted aside, or roundly ignored, by the serious persons who have gained the President's ear on the economy and entitlements. But I signed the petition anyway, just for shits and giggles, and so should everyone else. Who knows, some A-lister on Team Democrat might pass along the suggestion.
