Continuing from the previous post, if I could wave a magic wand, I'd personally make health care free at the point of delivery for everyone, not only for New England families who bring in $100 grand a year, because everyone pays too much money for health care in this country. There's a policy tool that could accomplish this, of course, and the Times would be performing an important service to its readership if some reporter would interview some health-care economists and ask them how much the Chapmans---and the rest of us--- would save if we booted private insurance and covered them through Medicare. I'm willing to bet it would be a nice chunk of change!
