Whatever power the administration has to advance its policy agenda via executive order, they've had it for five fucking years. Sternly worded warnings and promises to act unilaterally have been heard before, and should be taken at this point as nothing more than a sop to the liberals who still believe the President's a progressive at heart. I think he's done enough on his own to discredit this notion, but I am guessing it still holds in the minds of his most ardent supporters. I'm happy to be proven wrong on this, but I'll believe it when I start hearing some progressive policy proposals from him.
