But in case nobody has noticed, we are running out of water. So why are we using millions of gallons of it for energy extraction instead of for people? I mean, you would think that policymakers in Washington would be, oh I dunno, maybe calling for massive infrastructure spending to build a string of desalination plants up and down the Pacific coast. Someone could even give a speech about it! But I am guessing we can't do these things anymore unless we create an enterprise zone or a technology hub, and partner up with a lot of the same job creators who make this problem worse. That's just how we roll nowadays.
