Why is this considered at all newsworthy?
A newly-disclosed batch of previously-secret documents from President Bill Clinton’s White House offer new details on that administration’s early failures that could serve as a reminder that any future presidential bid by former first lady Hillary Clinton will inevitably involve revisiting and perhaps even re-litigating a series of fights from the 1990s.
Inevitable? Says fucking who?!?!? Christ, where to begin.
I really have never understood this attitude that's so prevalent on the part of the Washington news media that nothing the Clintons ever say or do can ever be taken at face value, that there must be ulterior motives to their every official deed, and that the baseless claims of psychotics and grifters must be re-exhumed because, well, because. I think what's annoying here is that Politico wants to have it both ways. They want to be free to traffic in all the sensationalistic bullshit because Clinton scandal-mongering is a profitable business, but they don't want to take responsibility for channeling proven lies. And we only have to put up with this nonsense for another three years, yippee!
Update (3:45 pm): Even. Fox News. Gets it.
