They're busting out all over.
Actually, I like the term "income support" over "guaranteed income" because it implies that everyone who receives support is working and earning some kind of income---even though it won't ever be true---which helps to immunize our side from the criticism that we're robbing from the makers and giving to the moochers (which will never be true, either). You think that someone outside academia and/or the blogosphere (looking at you, Senator Warren) would consider proposing legislation to this effect? Sure, it'll never pass in the current political climate, but as a trial balloon, it could serve a useful purpose as a gauge of public sentiment. Who knows, the majority of the voting-age population could be unserious persons! But we'll never know unless someone asks them.
